Dr. Craig A. Evans & Dr. Jeremiah J. Johnston

Dr. Craig A. Evans is the John Bisagno Distinguished Professor of Christian Origins at Houston Baptist University. He earned a doctorate in biblical studies at Claremont Graduate University in 1983 and a second doctorate at Karoli Gaspard Reformed University in Budapest in 2009. He is author or editor of more than fifty books, including Jesus and His Contemporaries, Jesus in Context, Ancient Texts for New Testament Studies, Jesus and His World: The Archaeological Evidence, From Jesus to the Church, and God Speaks: What He Says and What He Means.

Professor Evans has given lectures at Cambridge, Durham, Oxford, Yale, and other universities, colleges, seminaries, and museums, such as the Field Museum in Chicago and the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. He also regularly lectures and gives talks at popular conferences and retreats on the Bible and Archaeology. He has lectured on the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jesus and archaeology, canonical and extra-canonical Gospels, and the controversial James Ossuary and has appeared several times on television news programs and documentaries.


Dr. Jeremiah J. Johnston is a New Testament scholar, teacher, apologist, and speaker. His passion is equipping Christians to give intellectually informed accounts of what they believe. Dr. Johnston completed his doctoral residency in Oxford, in partnership with Oxford Centre for Christian Studies and received his Ph.D. from Middlesex University (United Kingdom) with commendation.

Dr. Johnston currently serves as the founder and President of Christian Thinkers Society, a resident institute at Houston Baptist University where he also serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Christian Thought.
